2025 Children’s Behavioral Health Summit

Breaking Stigmas, Empowering Families, Creating System Change

Join us on Monday, May 5th to explore how personal stories can drive change, break down stigma, and influence policy. Participants will engage in discussions on the value of lived experience, learn how to effectively share their stories, and discover where their voices can make the biggest impact. Breakout
sessions will provide space to explore advocacy & training opportunities, while a panel of youth, parents, and system leaders will highlight real-world examples of lived experience shaping the system. By coming together, we can strengthen our collective voice and create a more inclusive and responsive behavioral health system in Washington State.

SUD Family Education Sessions

This unique training is specifically designed for parents, caregivers, and other family members of individuals with a Substance Use Disorder (SUD). It is proudly presented by parents and family members who have lived experience supporting a loved one with SUD.

The SUD Family Education Sessions was developed in collaboration with the Health Care Authority, family members, and family-led organizations. It aims to equip you with an understanding of SUD and provide helpful support strategies.

We are excited to announce that this revised training will now also include helpful tips from the CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) model!

What you will gain from this training:

  • The current information on Substance Use Disorder (SUD), addiction, and its effects on the adolescent brain.
  • Skills for navigating your relationship with someone with SUD, including strategies from the CRAFT model.
  • Guidance on systems navigation within Washington State.
  • A toolkit with information and resources specific to SUD supports and services in Washington State, grounded in research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) and their partners.

Important details for your participation:

  • This is an interactive training, and we kindly request that you remain on camera and engaged throughout the sessions.
  • To receive your certificate of completion, attendance at all eight 2-hour modules is required. We have many options available.
