2023 Washington Children’s Behavioral Health Summit

EVENT DETAILS

When: Monday, May 1, 2023  9 AM – 5 PM

Where: Red Lion Pasco, WA

Join us in Pasco for the IN PERSON 2023 Statewide Family Network (SFN) Children’s Behavioral Health Summit “One Size Doesn’t Fit All”. The Summit is hosted by WA State Community Connectors and this year’s theme is all about uniqueness and individuality and remembering that one size doesn’t fit all is a great way to honor our unique cultures, stories, and lived experiences.

We will have four amazing topics; ‘Family Wellness’ and ‘Navigate & Advocate’ are the morning topics. We will have an introduction to get us inspired and thoughtful about these topics. Afterwards each participant will be able to select one of the 2 topics and participate in a Breakout Session to collaborate on identifying 3 successes, 3 challenges/gaps/barriers, and 3 solution ideas. We will then come back together to share and report out from each breakout group. The afternoon topics will be; ‘BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and Other Underserved People’ as well as ‘Building Your Own Support System’. The format will be the same as our morning session.

We will also have a great focus on FYSPRTs fun activity, some surprises, and some great networking.

  • Breakfast will be served at 8:00 AM and Lunch will be provided on Monday for all attendees
  • Those parent/caregivers who are traveling more than 50 miles can be provided a hotel room for Sunday night and dinner will be provided as well.
  • Contact KarenKelly@wsccsupport.org if you have questions or concerns

Bonus Optional Parent/Caregiver Event - Tuesday, May 2nd 9am - 3pm

WSCC is Co-designing with DBHR and other family organizations ways to engage other parents/caregivers who want to involve themselves in opportunities to use their lived/living experience.  This group will identify a variety of pathways for them to use their expertise; for example, participating on boards and committees, becoming a paid certified peer counselor, learning how to effectively advocate at the state level, etc.  We want your ideas of what types of activities would keep a parent engaged while they are still on the journey as a parent, caring for their child/youth for when they may be ready to embark on ways to become involved in the family movement for Children’s Behavioral Health.

  • Breakfast will be served at 8:00 AM and Lunch will be provided on Tuesday for all attendees
  • Those parent/caregivers who are traveling more than 50 miles can be provided a hotel room for Monday night and dinner will be provided as well.
