WSCC Statewide Family Network Open Forum Meeting
This is our every other month meeting to share what is happening around our state and connect with each other.

A safe space intended to empower families and caregivers to learn and share their experiences with children’s behavioral health services. The goal is to identify barriers, gaps, and challenges statewide to accessing appropriate and effective in-patient children/youth behavioral health services. In turn, the workgroup will strategize and brainstorm potential solutions to recommend to WSCC with the intent to fill these gaps and move the work forward. The identified solutions will then be sent up the chain to our state partners at the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery to influence changes in our System of Care.
A place for all families, youth, young adults, and system partners to learn more about behavioral health resources and supports, become a leader in their community, elevate important issues related to behavioral health services, volunteer for a work group, and share their voice and experience.

After nearly three decades of leading healing youth poetry programming in the Seattle area, Pongo is ready to share its tried-and-true techniques with educators, clinicians, and community leaders from across the country. Pongo’s certification pilot program will empower individuals with the tools and support to create new poetry writing projects using its proven, trauma-informed poetry writing methodology. As a result, Pongo will create a national network of Pongo-inspired poetry writing projects, supporting youth who have experienced trauma across the country.

A safe space for parents/caregivers to identify barriers, gaps, and challenges in providing leadership opportunities and topic specific training to support families in strengthening their tool box. The goal is to ensure WSCC is creating and providing training opportunities for individuals seeking to expand their knowledge of peer and family support, as well as sharing partner organizations trainings. This workgroup will also provide recommendations to the Executive Director in the planning of the annual Children’s Behavioral Health Summit and Parent Weekend Training.

This 16 hour training is for parents and family members of a person with a Substance Use Disorder (SUD). This is a Healthcare Authority (HCA) approved curriculum created to assist parents, caregivers and other family members in understanding SUD and providing helpful support to the individual they are supporting.
A safe space intended to identify barriers, gaps, and challenges statewide to appropriate and effective cross system collaboration communication and services. The goal is to create work plans and find a diverse array of partners to collaborate with WSCC to educate and assist families in becoming familiar to the benefits of having one treatment plan across all systems they may be involved in. The work plan will then be sent up the chain to our state partners at the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery to influence changes in our System of Care.

A safe space intended to establish procedures to ensure the work of WSCC is done with these values at the forefront. Identify family leaders of marginalized communities and invite them to join us so we can include their voices in our work. Identify experts on this topic who can partner with us to provide training for the Community Connectors.

The Community Connectors Statewide Family Network Work Groups/Committees meeting takes place every other month (February, April, June, August, October, December) on the 4th Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
This meeting provides an opportunity for updates and receive feedback on workgroup and committee work. We do Offer participation support for work group and committee members for their participation in this meeting.

Join us in Pasco for the IN PERSON 2023 Statewide Family Network (SFN) Children’s Behavioral Health Summit “One Size Doesn’t Fit All”. The Summit is hosted by WA State Community Connectors and this year’s theme is all about uniqueness and individuality and remembering that one size doesn’t fit all is a great way to honor our unique cultures, stories, and lived experiences.
